Courtney Barrera is moving up from assistant principal to principal at Roberts Middle School. Mrs. Barrera has 17 years of experience in education, including 15 years in Lamar CISD. She’s passionate about fostering a positive learning environment for students. She has had an opportunity to serve in several roles including teacher, reading facilitator, emergent bilingual specialist, and most recently as the assistant principal of Roberts Middle School. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree from the University of Houston-Victoria. 

Mandy Casey is moving up from assistant principal at Beasley Elementary to principal at Campbell Elementary. She began her teaching career as a first-grade teacher at Campbell Elementary in 2004. In the past 20 years, Mrs. Casey has served as a classroom teacher in various grades from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, a kindergarten-fifth grade special education teacher, and four years as an elementary assistant principal in LCISD. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston-Victoria and her master's degree in educational administration from Texas A&M International.

Kimberly Ellis has been named the new principal of Frost Elementary School. Ms. Ellis is a graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi. This is in her 11th year of education. Before becoming a principal, Kimberly served as a special education teacher and later as an assistant principal. She is now in her fourth year as a principal and remains committed to building future leaders by fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. 

Kyle Little is moving from principal at Roberts Middle School to principal at Reading Junior High School. Mr. Little has 12 years of experience in education, with 11 of those years in LCISD. His roles have included paraprofessional, teacher and math facilitator at Frost Elementary, assistant principal at Huggins Elementary, and principal of Roberts Middle School for the past two years. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lindenwood University and a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Houston-Victoria. Throughout his career, Mr. Little has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a commitment to enhancing educational outcomes, fostering positive learning environments, and supporting both students and staff. 

Tracy Mills is moving up from assistant principal to principal at Thomas Elementary School. Mrs. Mills comes from a family of educators and has dedicated over 30 years to the field of education. She began her career as a 4th and 5th-grade teacher in Houston ISD before transitioning to Katy ISD, where she taught 5th grade. Her passion for supporting teachers and students led her to serve as an Instructional Coordinator in Katy ISD, before moving on to other leadership roles. She became an administrator at Jackson Elementary School and then took on the role of assistant principal at Thomas Elementary School. She holds an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and a master's degree from the University of Houston. 

Dr. Sonya Sanzo is transitioning to the role of Area Superintendent from her position as principal of Antoinette Reading Junior High. She has 32 years of experience in education with the last 25 years serving families and communities in Lamar CISD. Her professional background includes seven years of teaching and coaching experience, 10 years as a school counselor, five years as an assistant principal, and 10 years as a principal. Dr. Sanzo graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in education in May 1988. She received a master’s degree in counseling from Sam Houston State University in 2007. She received her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston in 2017.
