Alternative Learning Center

ALC is the Disciplinary Alternative Educational Placement (DAEP) campus for Lamar CISD. Students assigned to ALC have violated the LCISD Student Code of Conduct and/or possibly the Texas Penal Code.

Students may be assigned to ALC for mandatory reasons (due to the Texas Education Code) or for discretionary reasons (when the home campus has attempted numerous interventions to correct the continued misbehavior).

ALC follows all the rules and regulations, as posted in the Lamar CISD Student Handbook and the LCISD Student Code of Conduct. This handbook is an addendum to the rules and regulations, as needed, to assure the success of the students assigned to ALC.

Our mission at the Alternative Learning Center is to empower resilience among students within a non-traditional setting. Our goal is to cultivate student success in the classroom and post-secondary endeavors.

We are committed to providing educational experiences that empower students to explore their opportunities, develop skills, and excel in their post-secondary endeavors. Through innovative teaching methods, unique learning opportunities, and a supportive community, we inspire students to reach their fullest potential.
